Dans cette chanson JJ Goldman rends hommage à ces enfants qui vécurent des années de ténèbres alors que les hordes Nazies déferlaient sur nos continents. Anne Franck ne vécue pas à Varsovie mais nous laisse un témoignage de ces mêmes souffrances avec un livre écrit secrètement au jour le jour dans un refuge réduit de la maison de Amsterdam où elle vivait pour échapper à la Gestapo. Elle y fut arrêtée vers la fin de la guerre en 1944 juste avant que les armées de libération ne libèrent les camps de concentration. Découverts par hasard au sortir de la guerre ses écrits furent publiés bien après sa mort. Anne Franck fut emportée par le typhus dans le camp de Bergen-Belsen comme sa sœur Margot où elle furent finalement déportées ensembles après le camp d'extermination de Auschwitz. A présent son corps repose auprès de sa sœur à l'endroit où elles moururent. Le "journal d’Anne Franck" a été lu dans le monde entier dans toutes les langues. Chaque année des millions de gens se recueillent sur leurs tombes toujours fleuries. La haine et le mal qu'elle enfante peuvent détruire la vie, ils ne peuvent détruire l'amour et l'intelligence. In this song JJ Goldman pays tribute to these children who lived through years of darkness while the Nazi hordes swept across our continents. Anne Franck did not live in Warsaw but leaves us a testimony of these same sufferings with a book written secretly day by day in a small refuge in the house in Amsterdam where she lived to escape the Gestapo. She was arrested there towards the end of the war in 1944 just before the liberation armies liberated the concentration camps. Discovered by chance at the end of the war, his writings were published well after his death. Anne Franck was taken by typhus to the Bergen-Belsen camp like her sister Margot where they were finally deported together after the Auschwitz extermination camp.
